After moving several times since earning my Master’s Degree in 2013, I have finally settled in Manassas, VA and can’t gush about it enough! I earned said Master of Arts Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Iowa and, prior to that, spent 5 years studying flute and business at Central Michigan University. I have over 10 years teaching experience, and while maintaining my private flute studio, I am a freelance musician and performing member with the Columbia Flute Choir where I performs on a Double Contrabass Flute *have you ever heard of a Double Contrabass Flute before?!?!*
While earning my Master’s Degree, I held both the Adjunct Flute Professorship at Culver-Stockton College in Missouri and the Flute Teaching Assistantship at the University of Iowa. During my tenure at both Iowa and Missouri, I taught private flute instruction, seminar classes, scale and technique classes, and woodwind techniques classes.
Throughout my flute career, I have taken private lessons and participated in countless master classes with some pretty incredible artists (a little more on that in a second…), but my primary instructors include Nicole Esposito (University of Iowa), Joanna Cowan White (Central Michigan University), Jaimie Wagner (University of Windsor), Tess Miller (Wings Unfolded, LLC), and Jeffery Zook (Detroit Symphony Orchestra). Some of the Master Clinicians I had the pleasure of studying with include flautists William Bennett, Denis Bouriakov, Michel Bellavance, Horacio Parravicini, Maxim Rubtsov, Philip Dikeman and piccoloists Geralyn Coticone and Nicola Mazzanti.
